Many old houses have no lifts, making it hard to carry large amounts of groceries to your balcony. It might be practical to have a crane) you could easily put up in your balcony to do the heavy lifting.

I am imagining a tripod with a horizontal arm, a crank for lifting the load, and the operator acting as a counterweight. But I leave the design to whoever actually makes the thing.
