I have only a fairly small amount of free time to allocate for Debian each week. At the moment, all of that time goes into keeping track of what is happening in the project, by reading IRC, e-mail, and blogs. This is a FAIL.

After Debconf9, I'm going to start leaving IRC channels and mailing lists (except debian-*announce and piuparts-devel), and possibly stop following Planet Debian as well. I've already requested removal of two of my packages, leaving me with three (two of which are co-maintained with others).

I am not, however, intending to actually retire. Ironically, by semi-retiring, I expect to get more done for Debian. I hope that by not spending so much keeping track of what others do, I will have some extra time to actually do some coding for Debian. I hope to get some actual piuparts work done.
